"Concentrate". This piece was made for a design class August took. The focus was to have intense colors and patterns. He drew a side profile, although it is up to the viewer to interpret who the character is and how it relates to them. It is called concentrate, as it was created during a stressful period of time; this can be seen in many of his artworks, a reflection of what was happening in his life at the time.

"Shadows". This is gouache on canvas. It is based off a photograph of a girl dancing in a field.

"Faces". This piece, a section of Augusts final collage is his favorite. He had no idea where he would end up when he began this piece, in fact it was drawn on scrap paper as a series of sketches preparing for a final. He added mixed media, taking a self portrait on the top left, and cutting out faces from a different piece to add variety. The faces represent people coming and going in our lives, some blurred (no longer in our lives) and some more bold and profound (presently in our lives).

Self Portait. This piece represents true self. Added elements such as the butterflies, the stormy background as well as the ocean come together in harmony to demonstrate internal elements of Augusts personality.

Untitled. A pen drawing with the intention to create visual vibration.

Untitled. This piece is a series of faces, created at the beginning of Augusts interest in portraiture.
